Art

The word ART is such a broad term. I think we probably all believe it is an expression of what comes from within us. However, it becomes different things for different people. In my book, that’s ok.

I have also found that I judge my own work more harshly than that of others, that being said…I’m going to display some of my work for you to view. Some are in stages and not complete. Others are from my past.

I do invite comments with some trepidation, but realize growth does not come from stagnation, but from being challenged. Ahhh…

This saw blade is a project I’ve been working on for a year or two now as a request from my father. I’ve moved it out to my living room on an easel so that it’s in my face to finish. I have discovered my anxiety over tackling what I see as the next steps and don’t want to ruin all my progress.

As with facing my fears of showing you my abilities (or lack thereof, lol), I plan to take those next steps. Wish me confidence, and maybe say a little prayer. Thanks for listening and I welcome your thoughts. Please be kind.

This is a co-worker’s niece. I went a little heavy on the shading, but hadn’t picked up a pencil in months.

Tried not to be so heavy handed with the shading and focus on the important attributes. When doing a portrait, the eyes really speak to me.

There’s a big difference from the last drawing to this one.

Again, please leave me some feedback on what you think, but go easy on me, lol.

Finally finished this piece! My father made the metal frame it’s mounted on and hung it in their living room. I’m so relieved to have it done. It feels good to finish something I’ve started…gonna try to do that in several other areas!

I am so inspired by your creativity!! Your art work is AMAZING! I find when painting it is a stress reliever however I’m more of a paint by number person. Otherwise my art work would be pretty scary looking hahaha.
